Cool 3D Leaf Tutorial in Adobe Photoshop

This tutorial shows us step by step how to create a cool looking 3D leaf in Photoshop. The purpose of this tutorial is to demonstrate how to make 3D icons in Photoshop. The steps shown here can be used in many different applications, other than just making a neat looking leaf. Read on!
Step 1-Create a new document
Start by creating a new image (Ctrl+N) 1000×1000px .

Step 2 : Make a new layer ( Shift+Ctrl+N)

Step 3 : Select Custom Shape Tool (U)

Step 4 : Select “leaf shape”

Step 5 : Use Custom Shape Tool to make a leaf ( Hold Shift when you make the leaf )

Step 6 : You should have something like this :

Step 7 : Go to Edit->Transform Path-> Disort

Step 8 : Push down the top corner :

Step 9 : Duplicate layer :

Step 10 : Fill the leaf with a green color , I used #7ad81e

Step 11 : Select the second layer “Shape 1 “

Step 12 : Use Move Tool (V) and push down the black leaf

Step 13 : Use Direct Selection Tool (A) and follow the instructions from the next picture :

Step 14 : Right click on the “Shape 1 copy”- the green leaf and select blending options.

Step 15 : Make this settings

Step 16 : Lock transparent pixels and select Brush Tool (B) with a little darker color. Brush a little on the leaf.

Step 17 : Ctrl + left click on the layer thumbnail.

Step 18 : Make a new layer ( Shift+Ctrl+N).

Step 19 : Use Elipitcal Marquee Tool , with the next settings and deselect like in the next picture :

Step 20 : Use Gradient Tool (G) and make the same thing like in the next picture ( 2-3 times)

Step 21 : Select the blending mode for the layer to : Overlay

Step 22 : Select “ Shape 1 “ and fill with a darker green color ( not very darker)

Step 23 : Use Brush tool with white color and brush like in the next picture :

Step 24 : You should have something like this :

Step 25 : Make a new layer , and select Polygon Tool (U) with next settings :

Step 26 : Make a star

Step 27 : Duplicate the layer with the star and put where you want.

Step 28 : Create a new layer and make the background , i used gradient tool to make this kind of background :

Step 29 : Now , let`s make the reflection of the leaf, select all the layers except the background layer and go to Layer->New->Group from Layers…

Step 30 : Merge the group

Step 31 : Duplicate the layer called “Group 1”

Step 32 : Go to Edit->Transform-> Flip vertical and put the second leaf under the first , now go to Filter->Blur->Gaussian Blur and blur a little the second leaf . FINAL:
